Håkan Kårdén

Biography

Mr Håkan Kårdén holds a Master of Science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He is CEO and Board Member of Eurostep Group and was one of the founders of Eurostep in 1994. In this role, Mr Kårdén has lead Eurostep through its global expansion and to its current position as world class experts in the design and implementation of standards based PLM collaboration solutions. Previous to Eurostep he worked seven years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a consultant and advisor to large organizations like ABB, BAE Systems, Swedish Defence, Saab, Volvo, Ericsson etc.                                                                                 

He is currently serving as a Board member of PDES, Inc in USA. He is Organizer and Programme Responsible for the annual PDT Europe Conference.Mr Kårdén has presented at several conferences in Europe, USA and China mostly on topics such as Standards Based PLM Collaboration, PLM in Virtual Organizations and Agility.

The scope for using standards like STEP and PLCS has grown beyond exchanging CAD files and Bill Of Materials the last years.The need to collaborate across disciplines and across organization borders is everywhere and now extends to all PLM related information.Collaboration in heterogeneous environments requires a new approach to an old problem – information integration instead of system integration.The presentation will describe:

• How standards can be used to deliver business value
• Cases where the standards are used in automotive, aerospace & defence and others industries.
• How security requirements are met
